Common Cause of Death

“Obesity causes100, 000 U.S. cancer cases” By Unknown source explains why being over weight is more unhealthy than you think. There are many causes of cancer but one of the most commonly cause of cancer is obesity. The most common case of cancer is endometrial cancer which is a cancer that forms in the uterus. Cancer is the leading cause of death in the United States. More than 26 percent of Americans are obese. So why would some one want to risk getting cancer and wanting to do the things you like because you physically or mentally couldn’t. If you like to run but if you’re obese you can’t run or you get to tired fast. If you like to go shopping but you don’t want to try things on because you don’t like the way things like on you. So why would you put your self through all that pain. Yes, some people can’t help being over weight, but those who can help should try to do something even if it is small, like eating properly or going on a walk two or three times a week. This made me think, what point is the author trying to make? That it is unhealthy to be over weight or warning those who are on the line of being over weight? I think that the author is trying to make sure every one know the damage of being fat so they won’t get any more overweight.

Lies in the hands of the teachers

Looking into peoples eyes, asking questions what really helps you get the job. When I was reading “Rigor Redefined” by Tony Wagner in this article there are three parts to in it, the first part is called “The Schooling Students Need” it said students need seven skills to axel in the 21st century. The seven skills are; first, critical thinking and problem solving, this means you are able to make decisions on your own. Second, collaboration and leadership you are able to take charge if something goes wrong. Third, agility and adaptability you must be able to change your positions such as working on something else with out getting made. Forth, interactive and entrepreneurialism as long as you try you are a good worker if you don’t do any thing right then you might not be what you’re looking for. Fifth, effective oral and written communication, you have to be able to talk with other people and write with other people such as an email. Sixth, accessing and analyzing information, you need to be able to look for curtain information and know what you’re looking at. Seventh, curiosity and imagination, able to be nice to someone and manners, imagination is when you can think of ideas and make it bigger. After reading this I was thinking how much of this do I already know how to do and how often do I do these things?
The second part of this article is called “The Schooling Students Get” in this part it did a study of observing classrooms for more than 20 years. They only observed AP classes as I read this it was very awkward to read because nobody talked in the classes they would just listen to the teachers and take notes. The kids in the class seemed as if they didn’t have very good communication skills. In all of my classes almost every one talks and adds comments to what we are talking about. If there are people that don’t talk the teachers try to bring the kids into the conversation. I like that kind of environment because I feel more open in this type of classroom.
In the last article “Rigor for the 21st Century.” In this paragraph they talked about how people are just taught to pass tests not to know what to do with the information. If the teachers work with the students so then they can get better at interacting with people. They also say that the online schools only help you with four of the seven skills which you need all of the skills to excel in your job life. In the big picture most of these point lies in the hands of the teachers.
